Jordan Eickman is a Professor of Deaf Studies at California State University, Northridge. One of the classes he teaches is—you guessed it—Deaf History! He earned a PhD in Deaf Studies from the University of Bristol, England and a BA in Cultural Geography from Arizona State University.
His research interests include Deaf cultural geography, Deaf sport/Deaflympics history and Deaf religious history. He has constructed various historical/geographic maps of the Deaf community, focusing on various Deaf spaces (including schools for deaf children, Deaf clubs, and Deaf sport clubs).
