Brian Johnston is a retired public servant, having working in the Australian Taxation Office for 46 years. He attended St Gabriel’s Catholic School for Deaf Boys in Sydney. He has been a member of the Sydney Catholic Deaf Community for many years.

 

He has been a member of Australian Society of Genealogists since he was 21 years old. He is an avid family historian and enjoys genealogy. He has no known Deaf ancestor as far as he can trace! He is now working on his elusive Dutch/German Jewish Millingen ancestors with probable connection with noble families.

 

He is married to Margaret and both of them are Deaf. They have three hearing children and four hearing grandchildren. His parents are hearing and he has one deaf brother, and one deaf sister who has two deaf children.
